Dynamite Diamond Ring

The Dynamite Diamond Ring is a prize contested once a year on AEW programming since 2019. A few days after Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) won the first ring, AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes confirmed in a tweet that the ring was valued around $42,000. Former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Diamond Dallas Page presented MJF with the first ring on AEW Dynamite #9 on November 27, 2019 and then received a diamond cutter. The third version of the ring was created by jeweler Diamond Sheik, also trained to wrestle by Cody Rhodes, Glacier, and QT Marshall at the Nightmare Factory in Atlanta. According to Diamond Sheik’s interview with Fightful in 2022, the third version is valued at $125,000 and contains real diamonds and gold.

To determine each year’s ring holder, there is a standard battle royale – known as the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale in its first iteration in November 2019 – where the last two participants compete in a standard singles match one week later. With the exception of 20 participants in 2020, the battle royale generally has 12 competitors. In 2022 and 2023, the format changed so that one winner of the battle royal would compete the following week in a singles match with the current ring holder. MJF has won the Dynamite Diamond Ring five times: 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
